The former editor-in-chief of «Tages-Anzeiger» and «Zeit» is President of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and teaches at the College of Europe in Bruges and Warsaw. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Lucerne and is a winner of the Davos Media Prize. He studied economics in St. Gallen.
