Imports into Switzerland and the EU

SIPPO is a mandate of the ‹Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO› within its Economic Development Cooperation. It is carried out by Osec. The program supports SME from developing countries to access the Swiss and European markets. In order to be successful SIPPO helps Swiss and European importers to find suitable partners in developing countries.

SIPPO’s support activities include tailored business advice ( e.g. productivity enhancement, lean management), expert product advice ( e.g. design, certification), as well as matchmaking activities such as trade fair participation, study tours and selling missions. SIPPO further provides updated information on markets and consumer trends in Europe.

At the other end of the supply chain, SIPPO provides information and advice to importers from Switzerland and the European Union interested in high-quality products from selected developing and transition countries. It regularly organizes buying missions to these countries with Swiss companies. 

SIPPO takes into serious consideration the environmental compatibility of the products in question, and to the social policies of the manufacturers based on the ‹Global Compact's ten Principles› in the areas of human rights, labour , the environment and anti-corruption.
